Hacked

Hacked

Author: Tracy Alexander
Genre: Mysterious
Book Review #15

Image result for hacked tracy alexanderDan is a 16-year-old boy who has step foot into the world of hacking. He wasn't the most popular kid in school but that changed when a popular girl named Soraya, started to like him. After a couple of weeks, Soraya and Dan start going out and after a few weeks being a couple, things start to change. Soraya started taking advantage of Dan's hacking talent. She kept asking Dan to transfer more and more data onto her phone and when he did, Soraya asked Dan to give her friend some free data. Dan refused and tried his best to explain to Soraya that what he was doing was illegal but Soraya couldn't care less. In the end, Dan gave up and transferred some data onto Soraya's friend's phone but Soraya still wasn't happy. She wanted everybody in her friend group to have free data transferred onto their phone's but by now, Dan had had enough. Dan and Soraya soon broke up because Dan didn't want to do too much illegal stuff. That wasn't the only break up that Dan went through. Apart from breaking up with Soraya, Dan and his best friend Ty also broke up. Ty broke up with dan because he didn't like how Dan was getting sucked into the world of hacking and requested him to stop. Dan didn't listen to what Ty had to say which caused an argument between the two of them. Ty told Dan that he didn't want to be friends with someone who did illegal things and Dan told him that he didn't want to be friends with someone to didn't appreciate his talent. And in an instant, their friendship was over. A few days after Ty and Dan broke up, Ty had an accident and was in hospital, with severe head injuries. Dan was confused as to whether he should go and visit his ex-best friend or not. He really wants to visit Ty but then remembers that Ty didn't appreciate his talent of hacking. Dan wants to go and doesn't want to go at the same time. He doesn't know what to do.

My Questions So Far:

Will Ty survive or die?
Will Dan end up going to visit him or not?

I rate this book a 6/10

I like how this book keeps you in suspense and constantly makes you ask yourself questions.

I disliked how Dan knew what he was doing was wrong, but decided to keep doing it.

Darren Shan - Sons of Destiny # 13 by Darren Shan

Genre: Horror / Action
In the world, there are vampires and other monsters close to this name. A vampaneze is a type of vampire but it kills it’s prey instead of taking a little bit of blood like the vampire clan. Darren Shan is a vampire prince destined to kill Steve Leopard the Lord of the Shadows who controls an army of vampanezes. Mr Tiny is the man who controls how destiny works, he can see into the future and seems to be hiding something. His real name is Desmond Tiny, and when shortened spells Des-tiny.

Steve ends up forcing Darren to meet up with his sister to prevent his nephew from killing human for blood. Darius is the name, and Steve was his father who had blood him to become a half vampaneze like himself. But the sister thinks Darren is dead after seeing his neck snap only days after Darren became a vampire at a young age. While they were visiting, they noticed that the football stadium was surrounded by policeman all over. Vancha, Evanna, Alice, and Darron figured Steve was involved. Steve had taken control over the cirque du freak while the circus was camping on the field. There was no chance that they would survive an attack from both vampanezes and police. This was it, when Steve or Darren was to die and takeover the world, as the prophecy says. Either way, humanity is going to fall in slavery, or the end of the world. So it seems that the two’s fate are sealed. But what if there was a way to avoid it, what if Darren could trick destiny into going one way rather than another. Everything is up to what Darren does next, will he become the new lord of the shadows, or become dead and everything as well?

I quite enjoyed how everything was going towards what happened if Darren was to die or not. The end was pretty interesting but I don’t want to spoil it so I’ll leave it.
I didn’t like how I ended up reading the finale of Darren Shan. I always end up choosing a book that is ended up being the end of the book series.

Rating - 5 / 5 just because I like every moment about it.

Deadly Little Lessons

Deadly Little Lessons

Author: Laurie Faria Stolarz
Genre: Suspense, Emotional
Book Review #14

Image result for deadly little lessons book coverCamelia is a seventeen-year-old girl. One morning, she was lying on her bed when all of a sudden she felt a stabbing sensation in her chest. It wasn't the first time that she had felt that kind of pain, she felt it last night as well. She was lying on her bed when the phone rang. The screen of the phone was flashing and said: private number. At first, Camelia decided to let her parents answer it because she didn't want to be in another situation when she was talking to a faceless person on the other end of the phone, considering what had happened last year. She decide's to pick it up anyway. "Camelia", an unfamiliar female voice asked. Camelia's chest tightened which caused the stabbing sensation to increase. "Who is this?" Camelia nervously asked. "It's your grandmother." Camelia didn't recognize her grandmother's voice because normally, she had a cheerful and bubbly voice and the person on the other end sounded bitter and cold. "Your mother's mother," she said to clarify. "I haven't called in awhile, but I need to speak to your mother." Camelia was confused as to why her grandmother wanted to speak to her mother because they hadn't talked to each other in at least 12 years. "I heard you mother had moved in with you, is that true?" Camelia was once again confused by what her grandmother said because she was the one living in her mother's house rather than the other way around. "Alexia, I'd like to speak to Alexia." Her grandmother said. "Alexia?" Camelia said assuming that her grandmother was confused. "Aunt Alexia was staying with us a couple months ago but now she is locked up in the mental ward at the local hospital because she attempted to kill herself," Camelia said running out of breath. "What do you mean by aunt? Alexia is your mother." Her grandmother exclaimed. Camelia was shocked. So shocked, that the phone slipped out of her hand and landed on the hard, wood floor with a loud BANG. What will happen next?

My Questions So Far:

What happened 'last year'?
Is Camelia's grandmother telling the truth?
If it is the truth, how will Camelia react?

I rate this book a 9/10

I like how this book leaves you in suspense and you never what's going to happen next!

There was nothing I disliked.
