Call, an ordinary kid, who returns home from the Iron Trial at the Magisterium with some very damaging news. Calls soul doesn’t belong to him but Constantin Madden, a crazed Makar who caused the Cold Massacre and controlled an army of chaos ridden animals. Call’s dad, Alastair, has now stolen the Copper Gauntlet to save his son and it is up to Call and his friends, Tamara, and Aaron, along with Jasper to bring it back to the Collegium. The four go on an epic adventure to stop Master Joseph from getting the Gauntlet which has the power to kill Aaron which would give the enemy of death the upper hand. Will call end up releasing the evil within him, and will he tell his friends that he posses Constantine Madden’s soul?
I enjoyed reading this book with all the twists and all the magical stuff that happens inside the book.
What I didn’t enjoy was that I didn’t choose to read the first book (Iron Trial) but ended up picking the second (The Copper Gauntlet).
