Book Review #17
This book is mostly about a boy named Sam. Sam always has nightmares that wake him up nearly every night. In one of his nightmares, he was standing on the footpath with his friend Lora. In front of them was a large scary figure which seems to be a person covered from head to toe in what looked like armour. The scary figure kidnapped Sam and Lora so he could get his hands on an unusual item that Sam had. That item was a black spherical glass ball that Sam had in his pocket. The monster-like figure demands Sam to hand the item over to him so that he and his friend can be free. Sam slowly reaches into his pocket and throws the ball into the air. As soon as the monster catches the ball, Sam wakes up. Because Sam had nightmares every night, he has to see a psychiatrist regularly.
The next day, Sam was having breakfast when his mother noticed a worried and scared look on his face. She decided to ask him if he was ok. Instead of answering nicely, Sam raised his voice at his mum and told her he was fine and that he just had a headache. Sam's mother was surprised that he talked in such a disrespectful way to her but continued to make breakfast anyway. Once Sam finishes his breakfast, his dad drops him off at high school and continues on with his day.
Sam walks into his class and sits down as usual. The teacher writes a maths problem on the board but Sam didn't pay attention; he was daydreaming. The teacher notices that Sam is not focused so he decides to pick on him to come up the front and write the answer. Sam gets up, grabs a piece of chalk and starts to work out the equation when the whole room starts to vibrate. Everybody looks outside just to see 3 grey helicopters landing on their field. All the kids are amazed and excited but Sam was confused and a little scared. Sam's teacher keeps telling him that "he will find him" which makes Sam even more confused. Seconds later a flood of people came out of the helicopters and kicked the door down into Sam's classroom. The men take Sam away without saying a word and force him into one of their helicopters where Sam finds two other people tied to metal benches. Soon, Sam was also tied up next to them.
My Questions So Far:
Why is Sam being taken away?
What will happen to Sam and the other two people?
I rate this book 9/10
I liked this book because it doesn't tell you everything straight away. It keeps you in suspense for a while and then slowly reveals all the mystery .
There was nothing I disliked.
You have added lots of detail into your book review, which makes it more interesting to read.
