Giraffes is a informational book, here are some facts I learnt when I read Giraffes. Giraffes are the tallest animal in the world. A girl giraffe is called a cow and a boy is called a bull and a new born baby giraffe is called a calf. A cow (girl giraffe) can give birth at age 4. You can find Giraffes in Africa south of the Sahara Desert, lot of giraffes are also found eastern and south Africa. Giraffes live in small herds. There is only one specie of giraffes but each individualize has its own pattern. A newborn giraffe is about 100kgs and under 2 meters tall it can stand up and run around about 1 hour after birth. The calf ( baby giraffe) drinks its mothers milk for 15 to 18 months. When giraffes take a drink it moves there front legs apart and bend there knees and put there head down and take a drink.
