Over the line

Over the line
By Tom Palmer

The main character is Jack, he is a honest and loyal person. This book is based on a true story Of a professional footballer in the trenches. It's 1914 and the World is at war. People like Rugby players, cricket players and more were signing up to go to war. But the only people that didn’t where the footballers so everyone said that they were to scared. Jack wanted to prove them wrong so he signed up along with a few of his friends. His training is over and now he is heading off to the trenches. He had to stay with rats, Dirty muddy clothes and he had seen deaths. His Friend inhaled some gas that the germans sent over and he passed away in his hands. After the war he had survived and he went back to playing football and everyone called him a hero.

I rate this book a 5/5
I liked how he stood up for what he believed.
I did not have any dislikes.

  1. Can you think of some examples that demonstrate how Jack is loyal and honest... Level 4 readers and writers support their ideas with extra detail / evidence. :) Please proof read for random capitals.
