Chief of Parhe ( fairy people ) and is the owner of the mauri stone. His daughter is Kuratawhiti
Kahu
Kahu is the first born out of his twin and himself, he's the son of Manuhiwa and Parekoi. He has dark hair that is tied up and is quite fit. He ends up falling in love with the princess Kuratawhiti. Kahu knows how to use all the weapons in his village because he was trained.
Mira
Mira is the daughter of Parekoi and Manuhiwa, her twin a kahu. She seeks revenge when her father gets taken away from the Parahe people. She's a backstabber because when her twin brother marries Princess Kuratawhiti she trys to attack the Parahe people.
Parekoi
Parekoi is the chief of kaitapua, he's brave because instead of his first born getting taken away her tells them to "take himself instead". He's selfish a desperate because he agrees to give away their first child in order to get the mauri stone. He is bold and strong with black hair and is the husband of Manuhiwa.
Weta
Weta is strong he is big and bulky ( shows and image in the comic ) he has intimidating red eyes and terrifying facial expressions.

The plot:
Parekoi needs the mauri stone in order for his villages crops to grow; his village was barren nothing at all would grow. In order for the villages crops to start growing the chief had to go see Taramea for the mauri stone.
Parekoi and Taramea made an agreement; Parekoi would take the mauri stone and in 100 moons she would give his first born to Taramea. Manuhiwa was disappointed and fearful she didn't want to give her first born away. He gives the mauri stone and the agreement begins. Soon after 100 moons Taramea arrives to collect the child, instead off his taking the child Parekoi offers for Taramea to take him instead. As the kids grow up Kahu falls in love with Kuratawhiti and Mira seeks revenge and tries to save her father.
Will she get her father back? Will Kahu marry Kuratawhiti?
I'd rate this book 5/5 I liked how there was a variety of characters and I liked how the story had pictures to describe the text.
