The BFG by Roald Dahl

Book review 10
Author is Roald Dahl
Genre is Fantasy/fiction
5/5!!!!

She felt so alone with no parents. Her caregiver was a cold-hearted mean human being. Like the other orphans that she lived with, she just wanted a place where she belonged. This little ten-year-old girl was called Sophie.

Sophie lay in her bed, unable to go to sleep. She staggered out of bed to the big window near her and opened it to see the view. In the silence of the night, she gazed upon the shadows cast by the street lights. Suddenly she saw a big shadow and a moment later, a giant human silhouette was present. It was poking a trumpet-like object through a window into a random room where someone was sleeping. Sophie was frightened so much she hurriedly ran back into bed and pulled the covers over her head.

Moments later a giant hand stretched into the room. grabbing Sophie in her blanket. Fear, dread and mystery raced through her mind...........

So sets the scene for this exciting book called the BFG.

Personal view
This story is so creative in the way it is written. Roald Dahl creates a whole new language using words like Snozz cumber, belly popper and Blood Bottler to add interest to the story. And also I like the way the friendship that develops between the main character and the BFG, where he goes from being a scary giant to a trusted soul mate.

I recommend this book for a fun filled adventure into fantasy land.
