Arohanui- Revenge of the Fey Book review 12/20

Author- Helen Pearse Otene & Andrew Burdan

Genre- Graphic Novel

In a village called Te Kainga lived a chief named Parekoi with a beautiful lady Manuhiwa. Everyone was happy and living a good life. Parekoi was looking for the Mauri Stone. But there was another village named Te Wao that was home to Parehe (The guardians of Nature).A blue enemy called Taramea had it and Parekoi begged him to give it to him so that all the villagers could be safe. The reason Taramea wanted to fight back is because he wanted back his Mauri Stone when they meet along Sacred Spring because Parekoi took it and gave nothing in return but he had to. Then they hated each other and started fighting a lot.

The characters are Parekoi a brave chief that is selfish to sell his first child for a Mauri Stone. Taramea the chief of Parehe. Parehe that are blue fairy type people. Weta that is big strong and also fights. Kuratawhiti that is a Parehe that loves a boy named Kahu and also Kahu has a sister who is Mira. The are both angry at each other Mira is jealous that Kahu that is the hero who likes Kuratawhiti. Parani and Mamaku are the servants of a bad girl called katipo that is also helping Parekoi. Parekoi’s wife is Manuhwa. Pretty much everyone had muscular bodies.

The story started. The 2 twins were born after about 4 months. The names were Kahu and Mira. Their father and mother taught them how to be strong and muscular like their dad and mum. Taramea made a deal a long time ago as well and then he noticed after that he forgot that deal that was trading the Mauri Stone for boy Kahu. But Parekoi sacrificed himself for his son because Taramea wanted his son. Kahu and Mira wanted their dad back so they trained a lot to get their dad back.

I really enjoyed this book because it was a graphic novel and they are easy to get information from and make an easy sentence and it was interesting.

I disliked nothing about this book.

I rate this a 5/5 or 10/10.
